Dr. Ewan Goligher (MD, PhD, FRCPC) is Associate Professor of Medicine and Physiology at the University of Toronto. He studied medicine at the University of British Columbia and trained in internal medicine and critical care medicine at the University of Toronto. His research focuses on life-saving interventions for patients with acute lung failure. His work has been published in leading medical journals including the New England Journal of Medicine, Lancet, JAMA, and subspecialty journals. He has published over 200 papers and several book chapters. As a specialist in critical care medicine, he cares for patients admitted to the intensive care unit with acute life-threatening illness, and he is regularly involved in helping patients and families navigate difficult decisions about medical care at the end of life. He serves as an elder at Christ Church Toronto, and he lives in Toronto with his wife and four children.
