SUMMER BOOK CLUBS

Book Clubs are back at Christ Church Halifax!

Here's how we'll do it: sign up (below) for a book club by June 20. We'll order the books (we'll let you know the cost and you pay what you can), and will make sure you get a copy. Your Book Club leader will get in touch with you to plan an every-other-week-or-so meetup. You'll pre-read a few chapters, meet together, discuss, pray, and high-five -- it's going to be great!

THE LINE-UP

  • My Dear Hemlock (Tilly Dillehay)

What if Screwtape tempted a woman? Inside you will find letters exchanged between the diabolical Madame Hoaxrot and her junior devil Hemlock, who are scheming against a young woman’s relationship with her Creator. (Ladies only)

  • Mere Christianity (C.S. Lewis)

Mere Christianity explores the core beliefs of Christianity by providing an unequaled opportunity for believers and nonbelievers alike to hear a powerful, rational case for the Christian faith.

  • A Little Book on the Christian Life (John Calvin)

For centuries, Christians of all ages have turned to this book to help them on their journey as they follow Christ. This book is one of the great classics of the Christian faith, calling believers to pursue holiness and endure suffering as they rest in Christ alone.

  • A Small Book about a Big Problem (Edward T. Welch)

How many times today have you been irritated? Frustrated? Anger is so common―yet it also hurts.

The wounds we inflict on ourselves and others because of anger give us compelling reasons to look closely at our anger and lift our eyes to Christ.
